Gina Fernandez

Gina founded Enable OT to allow her to provide treatment to adults and children in the community, in a unique and innovative manner.  Her treatment for clients often occurs outside the clinic walls and includes kayaking, soccer, rock climbing, dance and much more!  She is a PWR! (Parkinson's Wellness Recovery) Moves Certified Therapist, in addition to being a Registered Occupational Therapist, and practices in the Fraser Valley and throughout the Lower Mainland.  Prior to founding Enable OT, she worked at Fraser Health in Acute Care (Palliative care and Oncology), and she was instrumental in founding the Early Supported Discharge Program with Vancouver Coastal Health at the Richmond Oval in 2012.  Her programs for clients with Parkinson's Disease include a blend of exercise, anxiety reduction, cognitive compensatory strategies and creative cognitive exercises, and she enjoys teaching these items to students at the College where she is the instructor for the Rehabilitation Assistant program.  When she is not treating clients, Gina can be found teaching Bollywood/Bhangra dance at various high schools and dance studios throughout the country, scaling a rock climbing wall, spoiling her dog with treats or travelling to remote villages with her husband!
